Nancy Barnes Obituary
Portland-Nancy E. Barnes, 87, of Portland passed away on May 8, 2020 at the Barron Center in Portland.
She was born in Portland on February 12, 1933 the daughter of the late Curtis L. and Theodora (Day) Thurman.
Nancy was a 1951 graduate of Portland High School. She went on to work at Fairchild / National Semiconductor for over 20 years retiring in 1992. She went back to work at the Old Orchard School Lunch program in 1994 retiring in 2013.
She enjoyed crafts, ceramics, boating on Sebago Lake and the Ocean. In her later years, she had a wonderful time joining the Red Hat Society of Gorham and Old Orchard. She was a member of the Elvis Fan Club and also the 50’s plus club in Old Orchard Beach.
She is survived by 2 sons, Michael C. Barnes and wife, Cheryl of Westbrook and Jeffrey L. Barnes of San Antonio TX, a sister, Carol J. Fuson and husband, Lonnie of OK, and several nieces, nephews and blessed with very close friends and many cousins.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
