To the Smith Family, I was just informed of Bob’s passing. I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear this news. I have known Bob since 1998 . The company that I worked for bought the JJ Nissan Co. My wife and I did not relocate to ME. So I had worked out a deal where I rented a room at The Holiday Inn Express in Sacco .I stayed there 3 to 4 nights a week for almost seven years. So I got to know Bob very well. He invited my wife and I to Sebasco many times. On Cape Cod I was chair for an Alzheimer’s fund raiser at the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club along with Mark Novota the managing partner who also knew Bob very well. Bob would always donate a weekend of room and all the golf . My wife, Stacy and I always loved going to SHR for long weekends. Bob , would always be there to greet us with his warm smiling face. I recalled how proud he was of his daughters . We use to compare notes because we had two daughters also. When they went to college , when they got married and when he became a grandparent. He was certainly one of my best friends of all time. Our deepest sympathies to the Smith Family.

We vacationed at Sebasco for several consecutive summers with our three sons and were always looked after with such warmth and charm by Bob and his family. We send our very best to the Smith family at a sad time and know you will continue to touch the lives of those around you in your next adventures. Thank you for the many fabulous summers of lobster bakes, pancake breakfasts, singalongs, and fishing derbies. Bob will always be remembered as a great man.

Bob was a great lighthouse keeper at Sebasco. I knew him and went to Sebasco almost every year of his time there. As I became the oldest, returning guest, Bob would seek me out when I arrived and often upgrade my lodging. We had many fine chats. He was truly dedicated to his job of leading Sebasco Harbor Resort now and into the future. His early passing really saddens me; Sebasco has lost a very special lighthouse keeper and friend to us all.

My name is Patricia West and years ago I was President of the Chamber in Boothbay Harbor. Bob served on the Board of Directors. He managed the Boothbay Harbor Inn at the time. Handsome, Charismatic, Genuine, he was a true asset in every challenge. I am sorry our lives did not meet again but his hard work and loyalty in helping to improve tourism for a little town on the Maine Coast will be remembered by many.
