~ Our Family Caring for the Community We Serve ~

I recently learned of the passing of my childhood buddy Steve Cantara.. So where do i start, We grew up in the same neighborhood together, We swam in the Saco river, fished out of "leaky boat Louie", shot rats behind the dump, smoked our first pack of cigarettes together (and got sick). Muriel called Millie and asked If I got sick. She said must have eaten too much cake at the party. We drank many first beers Steve and I together and threw up as well,

I was a pretty good track runner and as I neared the finish line of the mile, 880 or 2 mile I'd run extra hard and Steve would always catch me before collapsing.. We also played football together, Steve in the line and I was a linebacker. Our senior year our record was 6 - 3 but the coach was fired because we did not win a state title.

We'd played baseball on Shaws Hill, hide and seek at night with the neighborhood kids and he even tore down my BB rim that we had secured on a tree in the street. After the snow plow passed it built a bank of snow that had harden. We use to run up the side of the snowbank and dunk the BB. One time Steve hung on a little too long and the rim came crashing down.. We laughed forever.. I learned to ski, heading to Rumford with the Cantaras. Steve was an excellent skier, I was ok.. Steve would come up to Farmington State College. i can't write all the things we did there, but be assured we had good times together.

Well those were never forgotten memories. I had hoped he attended the last class reunion, but his presence was absent. I hope my testimonial. bring a few smiles to family members. I read that he had one grand child and I have 5 and i know how special these little persons are to all of us.

If anyone wishes to contact me my email address is frankr356@hotmail.com.
God rest in peace Steve.

Alice was a lady of love. I met Alice in 1958, when we moved to Riverton in Portland Maine. My fried Jo Hayward introduced us and we always had coffee several days a week with 6 other women at our homes. There were children and dogs always around. There was so much love in these coffee breaks.

Alice and I worked on so many committees at Stevens Avenue church. Alice showed so much love and kindness in all she did. she was always caring and kind to all she met.

She raised a wonderful family.

Alice was a dear friend all these years and I will miss her love and thoughts.

I was thankful to be able to be able to visit her these last years and am grateful for the time.

Alice was all about love and I will miss her so much.

My dear dear friend.

to the Clarke family; I am very sorry to learn of the passing of Merle. In our younger days he and I traveled together quite a bit. I was very surprised to learn that he had brother and sisters. we lived next door to each other for a few years. I saw Stephen and Michael grow. up, and I got to know your mother quite well.. Time sends people in different directions and careers but I always missed seeing Merle and, I had a short employment at Rufus Deering
and merle would walk over to visit, I saw another friend of his quite a few years ago and he told me about Merle's previous illness. I wish I could meet you . Bob Stuart was the other friend.. god speed Merle, I hope to see you again . Bob Dyke

A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services rendered excellent service and provided accommodations that respects our cultural and religious beliefs. They lifted our spirit and took away most of the burden while our family grieved the loss of our grandmother. The funeral director (Jeff) and the owner (Mark) were very compassionate and understanding. They were readily available whenever I had questions and they reassured me that my grandmother would received the best treatment. I'm so grateful for their help, I definitely recommend A.T. Hutchins services, they have gone above and beyond for our family.

Thank you so much.

When my Mother passed on 1/1/2020 we were all quite confused, to say the least. Julie Ann went beyond the call of duty in making us feel like she would take care of everything and that she did. Julie Ann was so friendly, very professional in all ways, took great care of Mother and us! I would definitely use AT Hutchins again!

Peter was my roommate senior year in college. He was a thoughtful but very funny guy. I met his family when I spent a summer working in Millbury during college. Also knew Kathy at Westfield. All wonderful and kind people. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. He lived a full life and I have nothing but pleasant memories of our friendship.

I cannot thank you enough for the caring and kindness that was shown to me and my family when my husband, Norman Murray, passed away on December 9th. Jeff was so compassionate. He was so helpful in every way. I will always remember the respect and once again, the kindness. My heartfelt thanks to Jeff and AT Hutchins.

Evelyn was my best friend at Lewiston High School and she and her mother always
treated me with love and kindness. We lost touch as the years sped by, however, I
feel so fortunate to have many good memories of Evie.
She was a wonderful woman
and gave so much to many. I regret not finding her in later years as we could have
had fun and smiles about school. Her family and friends are lucky to have been in her life.

My Dad passed away on July 6 2015. The Hutchins family came to my home and they treated my Dad's body with so much respect. Being a USN veteran, it was important to
me that he be given the utmost respect and dignity. A.T. Hutchins did just that. They provided the most exceptional service, even allowing my Brother and my Aunt and Uncle to view his body before cremation. They worked closely with me and answered all my questions, and dispelled any concerns I had. My Father went out with the Dignity and the Respect he so richly deserved. And I owe a great deal to the A T Hutchins family for that. They were so kind and incredibly caring that I am making MY final arrangements with them as well. Thank you so much for your care and treating my Dad the way all our Military men and women should be treated.. And for making my family feel we could truly count on you in our time of need and sorrow. God Bless you all!!!
